This may be the closest I ever get to being the TMZ of butt plugs.

It's almost AVN week (AVN is actually Jan 18-21 this year, a week after CES, and yet again, I won't be there.), and the stars are already twatting.

They are also on twitter. rimshot

Annnnnnyways. Above is a picture of star Kirsten Price holding what looks to be a dildo in front of a laptop with a webcam on it, taken by a porn company CEO at a party earlier tonight.

According to the originating tweet, this is Real Touch's dildo. Now, they're known for making innies, so what we see here may be the first mention of the Real Touch Outie. My guess this is a sensor filled stick that will relay movement information to remotely connected Real Touch machines.

This has some big implications for a company that's been depending on the sales of haptically encoded recordings alone. The American cam girl market hasn't really had much in the way of augmented toys outside of dildo cams. VSex (who we talked about in one of the 3 posts made here last year) is on the rise with their controllable machines that are now being leased to cam girls, and there's been places like The Thrillhammer that've provided online controllable machines in the past, but actually having two way (or one-to-multi) interaction has usually been the realm of japanese toys.

I can't find much on the Real Touch Dildo yet outside of some PR blog posts, but if I had to guess (and I do), I'd say they're going after Segment's business model with the Virtual Hole/Stick. For those of you that don't want to read my fucking awesome analysis of that design, it was this:

Create hardware with two way control, then own the whole fucking pipeline in between and beyond. Controls, web pages, blogs, DVDs, etc... With the hold AEVN has had on control rights to the Real Touch (you have ask their website if you want the toy to do ANYTHING), I can totally see them picking up this line of thinking and seeing if it'll run in the USA.

I was pretty sure Segment had cratered, but their website seems to be back up and running. I know they'd been working to procure international patents, so it'll be fun to see if there's an adult toy patent war brewing here to go along with the mobile patent wars. I can assure you the dildo related cases will be far, far more interesting.

Real Touch did actually release their SDK (well over a year ago, yeah I'm that behind shut up), which means there may also be an API for the toy on release. The SDK still requires accessing RT's website, but at least allows outside developers to create their own control code through RT's managed services. With the pending addition of the dildo hardware to the original Real Touch lineup, I suspect we'll see a port of Angry Birds to the platform soon after launch.
