Ya know, you run a site called slashdong for long enough, then you start a new site called "openyou" and everyone just kind of assumes things...

It's been a while since I've started up a new website, and I found myself doing enough work on health hardware that I decided to spin it out into its own site. Not to mention, there's already a ton of drivers and software out there, but there's been no central place to record it thus far. openyou.org will feature posts about open source health technology, as well as information on library and driver projects to give developers and users new ways to learn about themselves via code.

Needless to say, there will most likely be overlap in the topics here, but openyou.org will focus more on general health and sports (yes, I realize some of you consider sex a sport), while slashdong will continue to be the sex tech blog you know and love.

Expect some posts around here soon on all of the fun that's been going on in sex and games (Is We Dare the end of Video Game Sex Conceptual Art?), iPhone sex apps, the upcoming RealTouch SDK, and more.

So, throughout the past month, there's been a whole big bunch of press about kinect sex and the Thrixxx video I've posted about a ton already. Thanks to a couple of interviews I did, I'm getting quoted rather heavily in the press. In each one of these articles, next to my name, is usually some variation of "Sex Tech Expert". For starters, the English sites.

• "... a software engineer and sex tech expert" - I feel like the first part kinda rules out the second, doesn't it?
• "... who is considered one of the world's experts on sex and digital toys and games" - Damn skippy I am.
• "One of the greatest minds in the field of teledildonics" - Let's act like this field is way, way bigger. I don't want to be a big fish in the world's dirtiest pond.
• "porn-industry expert Kyle Machulis" - Whoooooooooooa. Whoa. Whoa. No. I'm just the internet dildo guy.

However, this story has grown an international set of legs, let's take a tour through the languages of the world and their own translation of "Dildo expert", shall we?

Now that Thrixxx (the makers of the Virtually Jenna and 3D Sex Villa) have basically taken over the world of mainstream kinect news with their original kinect sex interface video, they've now put out a fully uncensored version of their interface, showing more gestures, including toy usage and insertion.

This now comes on top of the much reported news that Microsoft has said they will not condone adult content on the kinect, which absolutely no one is either surprised at or gives a shit about, but it's giving the press another way to extend this story's legs. The kinect cannot be used for commercial products, and none of us would ever expect a game this sexually explicit on a major console. However, the Primsesense Reference kit can be used for whatever the hell you want, and only costs $50 more.

This is a win for all parties involved. MS gets to champion the family friendliness of their console, Thrixxx keeps on getting press that now has one of the biggest software companies on Earth attached to it, and bloggers like me get to reuse the same content post after post after post.

Thrixxx, the makers of the Virtually Jenna and 3D Sex Villa series of doll pokin' games, have released a video showing a gesture based interface to their game using the kinect.

Note that this is 10 full days before christmas, which was my deadline for when we'd see our first public usage of the kinect in porn.

If I have a fetish for anything, it's being right.
